In this period, China had flourishing economy, booming business and stable social order; even its borders were relatively open. With the increasing wealth brought by urbanization, arts and literature were also booming. Li Bai and Du Fu are poets famous for their simple and natural works. Their poems affected the hearts of scholars and ordinary people. Even today, many of their poems are being widely read and recited by children and adults.
